Long Service Awards

As a full member of the Hospital Broadcasting Association, Radio Horton is proud to be able to recognise those of our members who have contributed many years of service and dedication to the station. Here, we feature some photographs from our previous Long Service Awards ceremonies, with certificates being presented to former and current members.

As part of Radio Horton’s 50th Birthday celebrations in July 2014, president of the Hospital Broadcasting Association, June Snowden attended the station’s members party to present Long Service Awards to the following members:

  • 10 Years: Barry Newbery; Jane Holland; Di Smith; Ray Kent
  • 15 Years: James Hulbert; John Mayo
  • 20 Years: Ian Fleming
  • 25 Years: Kevin Matthews
  • 30 Years: Stewart Green
  • 35 Years: Olga Wilson
  • 40 Years: Tom Wilson
  • 50 Years: Ted Hanson MBE

On Friday 7th February 2003, Radio Horton held an evening where members who had served the station for many years were presented with a Long Service Award. June Snowden, president of the Hospital Broadcasting Association attended presented members Muriel Griffin, Stewart Green, Ted Hanson MBE and co-founder, Graham Wilton with Long Service Awards for 15, 20 and 35 years respectively.
