About Me :
I live locally and became interested in Radio Horton after visiting my aunt Mamie who was in F Ward and had saved me the booklet. I enjoy being involved in activities where i am part of a team and like meeting new people. Since joining Radio Horton i have become involved in other community work which includes being on the local village hall committee, a village library and the local church, which i have attended for many years, being small, there is a great fellowship within the members. I also work locally which means that i can take part in the request collecting, which i enjoy as it means chatting to the patients, when i have finished i have increased my skills by watching and helping Ray on a Friday and in the last few months have also done some presenting, which whilst i found it a challenge to start with have had great satisfaction from. My other interests include reading, hence joining the village library, along with my sister Margaret, gardening to a "certain extent", supporting the work of Monkeyworld Ape Rescue Centre by sponsoring Valerie, one of the chimps and travelling.
Favourite Songs :
I enjoy listening to songs by Daniel O'Donnell, especially FOOTSTEPS and MY FOREVER FRIEND, in addition i also like Abba and this is going back a bit songs by Herman's Hermits and the Seekers.
Why I joined Radio Horton :
I joined because when i read the pamphlet i realised i could do some of the "behind the scenes" jobs, especially typing, hence i became the Minutes Secretary for a few years and i also like chatting, which suited me prefectly when i orginally asked patients if they wanted to play bingo or latterly if they wanted a request. I have also thoroughly enjoyed being a member of both our little request team or the larger one of Radio Horton. I hope to be a member for many years to come.
