Radio Horton is a registered charity and we are very grateful for the generosity and support of the community of Banbury and members of the public who contribute or assist us through donations, fundraising and sponsorships.
The station broadcasts 24 hours a day, seven days a week and 52 weeks a year and is staffed by volunteers. Radio Horton does not receive any funding from the NHS or Government and we rely on donations and support from the community to continue to provide a vital service to patients. Any donations received are very much appreciated!
Donations will go towards the running costs of the station, including the maintenance of studios, our broadcasting licenses, production and provision of audio and music, upkeep and maintenance of our outside broadcast vehicle and equipment used at community events, as well as a whole host of other areas.
If you would like to assist with our fundraising efforts, whether through holding a self-sponsored fundraiser, event or campaigning/promoting the positive work of Radio Horton, we would love to hear from you. We would be glad to help in any way possible, in providing you with promotional tools and on-air interviews, or online press coverage to raise awareness of your projects and activities. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
More than 92% of hospital radio stations in the UK have evidence of their impact on providing entertainment, whilst over 89% reported that hospital radio has had an effect on social interaction. Find out more about how hospital radio can have positive impacts on patient experience in hospital and health outcomes by reading the report conducted by the Hospital Broadcasting Association in 2015.
As of 2016 you can now donate or fundraise for Radio Horton online via BT MyDonate. MyDonate is a not-for-profit, online fundraising service for UK charities from BT. The service provides a secure, easy-to-use way for millions of people to raise money for their favourite charity. BT invests at least 1% of its corporate pre-tax profits in society each year.
Donations made by UK taxpayers are also eligible for Gift Aid, a Government initiative that increases the value of any donations to Radio Horton, allowing us to reclaim basic rate tax on a donation made to us. If you are a UK taxpayer, be sure to tick the box that says “I want to Gift Aid this donation to Radio Horton“. More details concerning Gift Aid are available on the Gov.uk website.
