On 10th July 2016, Radio Horton provided music and a PA service at the annual Broughton Cycling Sportive, held in the grounds of Broughton Castle, near Banbury which saw more than 200 cyclists turnout to take part.
Offering participants a variety of four sportive routes available to suit all ages and abilities, cyclists could put their skills to the test, navigating the cotswold hills. Routes included a family fun ride and an exhilarating 100 mile monster route, for those who take cycling to the extreme.
The event is organised by Banbury STAR and the Rotary Club of Banbury Cherwell in association with Broughton Castle and this year was supported by local businesses and organisations including Banbury based Norbar Torque Tools, King & Wooley, Ellacotts, Anker, Whitley Stimpson and the Katharine House Hospice. Proceeds from the cycling event are donated to a number of local charities and organisations.
Celebrating 52 years on air, team Radio Horton were on hand to provide buzzing participants, spectators and their families and friends with music, entertainment and announcements throughout the day and were later joined by many members who had earlier attended the station’s studio relaunch.
