Raise your Mugs! Radio Horton holds coffee morning for Katharine House Hospice

Radio Horton is hosting a coffee morning on Spring Bank Holiday Monday 27th May to raise funds for the Katharine House Hospice as part of their “Care for a Cuppa” initiative.

Volunteers from Banbury’s hospital broadcasting service, Radio Horton will be donning their aprons and selling teas, coffees, refreshments and a range of cakes and bakes on bank holiday Monday at the Cornhill Centre in Banbury Marketplace.

The station will be providing musical entertainment, activities, games and a tombola to raise funds to help support over eight-hundred patients and their families this year at the Adderbury based hospice.

Anthony BrownRadio Horton Chairman, Anthony Brown said: “We have a long standing relationship with Katharine House and have worked together with them for several years on their Midnight Walk and Santa Dash, as well as a number of ad-hoc events.”

The Care for a Cuppa event is an initiative launched by the Katharine House and has already seen a number of individuals and organisations in Banburyshire hosting their own gatherings to raise funds for the much loved hospice.

For Radio Horton, the event will be the first of its kind and will also provide an opportunity to promote its own services including its PA & Community Events service, information aimed at recruiting new volunteers, engaging with the community and sharing details regarding its exciting new broadcasting service aimed exclusively at care homes in the community.

Brown continues “We’re excited about hosting our first coffee morning for Katharine House and hope it will be a success. Everybody is welcome, even if you just want to drop in and say hello”.

“We would also like to kindly thank the Royal Voluntary Service, Cornhill Centre for allowing us to use their town-centre facility for our event.”

The Radio Horton coffee morning is open to the public and will take place at the Royal Voluntary Service, Cornhill Centre, Banbury, OX16 5NT on Monday 27th May 2019, from 10:30-13:00.
