Tell us about your programme:

Sports Show, featuring both local and national sporting headlines and live scores. I occasionally assist Ray Kent with the Friday evening Request Time programme, featuring songs requested by the patients and a chance to win travel vouchers each month.
During the festive season I sometimes host a programme featuring music from the last year.

Tell us about your role and volunteering experience at Radio Horton:

I have twice collected requests around the hospital wards, and have also helped at outside broadcasts, notably the former SportsSound Special at the Spencer Stadium, BodFest 2013, Broughton Castle 2014 and at Trinder’s Toy and Model Shop in 2014.

What would be your top three Desert Island Discs?

  • Coldplay – Violet Hill
  • Snow Patrol – Chasing Cars
  • Neil Diamond – Sweet Caroline

Music artists that have influenced you:

The first songs I really listened to were some of the Beatles’ classics and I admire their achievements, but since then my following tends to follow the charts.

Three words to describe volunteering at a hospital radio station:

Rewarding, enjoyable and memorable.
