Tell us about your programme:

Select A Year – thirty minutes of music from one year.

Tell us about your role and volunteering experience at Radio Horton:

My interest in radio started in the 60’s with the BBC Light program, Radio Luxembourg and the Pirate stations. I was influenced by Kenny Everett who was not only a presenter but used his technical skills to enhance his unique broadcasting style.Although I’m not a presenter I have spent my  time on Radio Horton in the role of a studio engineer. The role is always  challenging with new technology around the corner.

What would be your top three Desert Island Discs?

Difficult to decide and tomorrow I will change my mind but for today:

  • Elton John – Recover Your Soul
  • Celine Dion – First Time Ever I Saw Your Face
  • Four Tops – I Like Everything About You

Music artists that have influenced you:

Holland Dozier Holland and Motown. Elton John, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Beach Boys. Rod Stewart. Nile Rogers. To name but a few I could carry on but the list is endless.

Three words to describe volunteering at a hospital radio station:

Challenging, Enjoyable, Entertaining
